Genu varum deformity

The image on the left shows a patient who presents a genu varum (varum knee): on the right side, the varum is more advanced because there is already wearing of the cartilage with a medial narrowing of the joint space between femur and tibia.
The image on the right shows cartilage wear in a right knee with arthritis: the deformity in varus is related to the loss of cartilage.
