This image shows a osteonecrosis of the medial femoral condyle: the arrow highlights this true osseous decay which is in contact with the articular cartilage. This is the root cause of the disability-producing pains. At this time the treatment is surgical. In the beginning, an MRI can facilitate diagnosis.
