The two X-rays show a fracture of the tibial eminence, at the insertion of the anterior cruciate ligament. The arrows show the fracture. This fracture is 9 times more frequent than a full body rupture of the cruciate ligament in children (the ligament is more resistant than the bone). Rupture often occurs during a  mechanically forced extension of the knee. The treatment is surgical for very displaced fractures (standard 3 and 4 according to the classification of Meyers and Mc Keever) and orthopaedic (plaster) for non-displaced fractures (standard 1 class. Meyers and Mc Keever).
