knee anatomy: anterior cruciate ligament : back to ACL

Knee anatomy : anterior cruciate ligament.

Knee anatomy: the anterior cruciate ligaments crosses over the posterior cruciate ligament  in the center of the knee to form the "central pivot". Its role is fundamental in controlling stability and in preventing anterior translation of the tibia. (Knee anatomy and meniscus ...)

The anterior cruciate ligament is inserted into the center of the tibia (outwards and in front of the anterior spine tibial) and on the axial face of the external condyle in its posterior part.
