Anterior and posterior dislocation of the elbow

Posterior dislocation of the elbow can sometimes be associated with a fracture of the radial head: in extreme cases and elderly patients, a prosthetic radial head can be performed (photo 2)

Anterior dislocation of the elbow (Photo No. 3) is linked to greater trauma such as in road accidents. Sometimes the explosion of an airbag is responsible of a fracture dislocation (photo No. 4). This mechanism was described in 1992.
